About Dr. Kristijana Rakic
After a decade of private practice, corporate wellness, and community health programs such as the KW Cleanse, Dr. K has witnessed massive transformations in the health and vitality in her Kitchener community.
Dr. K is a strong advocate of prevention and health optimization. She is enthusiastic about educating and empowering her patients to maintain a healthier lifestyle and is eager to work with individuals who are ready to take charge of their health.
In celebration of 10 years in practice and experience in the field of Functional and Naturopathic Medicine, Dr. K developed a new treatment plan in 2018. Her new EMPOWER U METHOD is the ultimate road map to better health. This six-month comprehensive program was built for those who are ready to act and believe they have the power to control their health destiny.
Dr. K specializes in metabolism and weight loss resistance, autoimmune, digestive health, chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia, hormone health (fertility, PCOS, menopause, PMS), cardiovascular disease, diabetes, thyroid health, and brain health.
Dr. K graduated from the University of Waterloo with an Honors Science degree in Kinesiology. She received her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine diploma after completing four years of post-graduate medical education at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. She has successfully completed a certification in Therapeutic Prescribing and is licensed to prescribe Bio-identical hormones and Desiccated Thyroid in Ontario. Dr. K is also certified in First Line Therapy (FLT), an advanced certification program in recognizing the barriers to weight loss and helping patients achieve optimal body composition. She is currently completing her Functional Medicine Certification from The Functional Medicine University.
Dr. K is licensed in Ontario through the Board of Drugless Practitioners (BDDT-N). She is also a member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND) and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND). She is an active member in her community of Kitchener Waterloo and looks to expand her services into Cambridge, Guelph and surrounding areas in the near future.
